Dance Mom Series, Part 1: Are You a Dance Mom?

We all know about the show Dance Moms, right? I'm guilty of having watched many episodes. Most often, though, I would cringe through the whole thing yelling alternately at Abby Lee and the moms on behalf of those poor children. I do have hope that it is JUST a television show and not so bad in real life. That said, the term "dance mom" is now a thing referring to the competitive, pushy and self-absorbed parents of the dance world. Within this post, I'm referring to mothers and fathers when I use the stereotyped term "dance mom," as it is my experience that dads can be just as awful.
